  • 1 Apr 1914: BEACONSFIELD. Mr Tanner, a resident of Windsor, who for the past twelve months has been spending his weekends at "Quamby," Upper Beaconsfield, died very suddenly on Saturday last. He came to Beaconsfield by the 1 p.m. train and proceeded to his house at Upper Beaconsfield, where he apparently dropped dead after he had placed some parcels, he was carrying, on a table. His dead body was discovered by his wife who came up from the City by the 3 p.m. train. A post mortem examination of the body was subsequently held by Dr Griffith who found that death was due to heart disease. The deceased, who was 49 years of age, and carried on business as a tailor, had been suffering from ill-health for some time. His remains were interred in the Berwick cemetery on Monday afternoon.6
