  • 14 Apr 1927: Mr. A. E. Loveridge has returned from Ouyen, where he has been spending his holidays with his son, Mr. Ellis Loveridge. Alfred Ellis Loveridge14
  • 15 May 1930: BERWICK. Mr. A. E. Loveridge, an old and respected resident of Berwick, died on Wednesday at the age of 69 years. Mr. Loveridge was in his usual good health on Sunday morning, and attended service in the Church of England at which he was a regular attendant. On Monday morning he was seized with a stroke, and became unconscious, and remained in this state until shortly afte 1 o’clock on Wednesday afternoon, when he passed peacefully away. Many years ago the late Mr. Loveridge established the business of a general merchant in Berwick, and this business is still carried on under the name of A. E. Loveridge and Sons. Some years ago a branch was also opened in Ouyen. Both branches are now being carried on by Mr. Loveridge's sons. The deceased gentleman leaves a widow, two sons and three daughters to mourn their loss. The funeral took place on Thursday afternoon, and was largely attended by many residents of Berwick and the surrounding district. The Church of England ceremony was conducted by the Rev. C. N. Zercho assisted by the Rev. A. J. Cole. Members of the I.O.O.F. Lodge acted as coffin and pall bearers. Mr. John Grant, of Berwick, was the undertaker.15
