Ethel Sarah Gladman was born on 24 Apr 1872, the daughter of Thomas Gladman (1845-1929) and his wife Sarah Anne Gould (1849-1923) who were married in Launceston in 1869. Ethel was married to Albert John Ellerker at Christ Church, Launceston, on 25 Sep 1895 by the Rev. William Law. Albert was born at Emerald Hill, Victoria, on 12 Dec 1866, the only son of John Bradshaw Ellerker, a customs shipping agent, and his wife Sarah Maria Mathews.
Ethel and Albert had two sons and a daughter. Mervyn Albert was born in 1899 at Tivoli Road, South Yarra, Victoria. Marjorie Ethel was born at South Yarra in 1900 and Alan Risby at Hawthorn in 1907. The family moved to Sydney where Albert died in 1922. Ethel died in Mosman, NSW, on 19 Sep 1946.1
