When the case was called on Mrs. Barby refused to give evidence, statng that she did not wish to go on with the case. Mr. Philpott, J.P.: This is most extraordinary. The wife puts the law in motion, and defendant has had to be brought from Deniliquin, and at the last moment complainant refuses to proceed.
