  • 6 May 1926: Ross—Hunter. A CHARMING evening wedding was quietly celebrated by the Rev. J. Jones at All Saints' Church, East St. Kilda, on Wednesday, April 28. The bride was Miss Mollie Hunter, the well-known younger daughter of Mr and Mrs Evan Hunter, of Warragul, and the bridegroom was Mr Roy Everard Ross, son of Mr and Mrs Hugh Ross, of Mansfield.
A veritable cloud of tulle veil, caught to the head with orange blossoms which had been worn by her mother, fell over the bride's dainty frock of ivory georgette. The whole of the front was finely sewn with a tracery of crystal and silver beads, and a drape of the georgette fell from the right shoulder to the left hip, where it was caught with a large georgettoe rose centred with orange blossom. The back of the skirt was circular, and fell in silver defined scallops on to the border of fine Limerick lace. A sheaf of chrysanthemums was carried. Misses Dotty Fitts and Melbe Roark, the two pretty maids, wore lovely little frocks of pale cyclamen mauve taffeta. The short, tight bodices had V necks, and the very full skirts were bordered with several narrow frills, and above these large roses of silver tissue and mauve georgette of a deeper shade appeared at intervals. Their turbans were of mauve tulle and silver lame, and they carried shower posies of shaded mauve pansies. Dr. Conrad Ley supported the bridegroom as best man, with Mr Keith Johns as groomsman.
After the ceremony Mr and Mrs Evan Hunter welcomed their guests at Scott's Hotel. When leaving, the bride covered her pretty evening frock with a flared coat of cream Zeena cloth, with border, collar and cuffs of white fox fur. Roy Everard Ross3
